Rob started coaching U15AAA at the age of 18. After multiple surgeries that ended the chance to play Jr Hockey, he wanted to find a way to stay in the game he grew up with and to this day is very passionate about. He has 20 years of coaching experience with the majority spent at the U18AAA, Jr A, and Collegiate Level. Rob also has vast experience in scouting and player evaluation with experience in the AJHL, WHL, and with the Program of Excellence as the Lead Evaluator for Team BC U16 which saw the team win Silver in 2016 and Gold in 2017, BC’s first gold medal since 2012.
Rob moved to Langley BC in 2015 where he met current GM of BarDown, Jessie Leung, where they won a BC U18AAA Championship and more importantly moved 18 of the 20 players onto the WHL and BCHL. Rob moved to West Kelowna in 2018 where BC Hockey named him the Director of Hockey Operations and Player Development for the Thompson/Okanagan Region that saw him oversee 13 different AAA/Zone programs. In his last season, his Okanagan Rockets program had the top team in each of the U15/16/18 AAA levels and the top ranked U18AAA team in Canada.
Rob’s professional career in the workforce last saw him take over two tech startups to rapidly grow them to profitable well recognized leaders in a new industry. His life experience and passion for the game of hockey led to the concept of BarDown Training where players could train skills that go overlooked, offer high end trainers for all ages and skill levels, while doing it in a fun environment and at an affordable rates to not price any player out of the game they love.

Luke Krbyla, BHK
Luke doubles as a strength and conditioning coach and kinesiologist. He is experienced in designing and implementing successful functional strength training and rehab programs for a wide variety of individuals, both athletes and non-athletes.
Born and raised in the Kootenays, where he spent the majority of his time during winters playing hockey, Luke left to attend the University of British Columbia-Okanagan to receive a bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics. After spending several years in Vancouver gaining world class experience at Twist Conditioning (founded by Peter Twist, former Vancouver Canucks S&C coach for 11 seasons), he has brought his craft back to Kelowna.
Luke’s passion for training stems from growing up playing sports such as hockey, soccer and baseball. Knowing he was never the most talented athlete on the team, he soon looked to training in the gym to excel his game. As he became more educated, Luke began understanding how flaws in his own training as a teenager may have hindered him from tapping into his full potential. These experiences are now what drive him as a coach to instil proper athletic development for the appropriate population.
